PSO 2023 HRO AND Safety Education Series: Trust and Collaboration: Partnering with patients to enhance outcomes

Fostering a trusting and collaborative relationship with patients and caregivers not only impacts patient experience but also improves quality of care, patient outcomes and perceptions of care received. Presenters from Denver Health and Intermountain Health will share successful strategies for building strong patient-provider relationships, fostering trust in the healthcare system, and addressing key drivers that impact healthcare worker’s ability to provide empathetic and collaborative care to patients.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
 
1.    Discuss trust as a foundational element to increase patient and caregiver engagement in quality improvement work.
2.    Describe the impact of healthcare worker wellbeing, engagement, and satisfaction on the patient engagement, experience, and outcomes. 
3.    Identify strategies tools and resources for addressing key drivers of healthcare worker experience that impact patient-provider relationships and patient experience.
