“From Paper to PC” and “Learning to Grow: One Coordinator’s Story”

July 27, 2023

This year, in addition to poster presentations at the conference, excellent abstracts have been chosen to present on coordinator calls.

The team from Stony Brook Medicine has created an electronic progress notes form and a structure to check in with new graduates at set times during their first year. They assess clinical skill, quality and safety, organization, and clinical judgment among other items. These progress notes are used to set goals for transition.

The coordinator from Thomas Jefferson had the opportunity to transition into her role as another coordinator was transferring out. She was mentored via a peer mentoring process which allowed her to network within the organization and with other coordinators through the Vizient program.
